Otherwise known as our side yard.
We don't exactly have a back yard, if you're wondering. We have about five feet of utility easement, which part of our house encroaches upon (with legally signed documents, of course), a fence and then the neighbors' back yards. We call this little area the dog yard, because it's a little less sanitary, if you know what I mean. The side yard, however, is fenced off from the rest of the yard and therefore clean.
Which brings me back to the point. Our side yard is now full of playground equipment. You see, my husband is a good guy. He's nice. His customers generally like him. Proud father that he is, he usually tells them about the boys at some point in their conversations. And they often do extremely nice things like offer to let him have toys or play things that their kids or grandkids have outgrown. Connor's PowerWheels came to us that way a few years back. And recently, another customer offered us all of the play equipment their grandchildren had outgrown.
So now we have our very own playground in the side yard. There are no less than four slides now, counting our wooden play set (also gifted to us by one of Josh's business partners). There are now four swings, more than enough for three boys who always want to swing at the same time. And there's even a little fort (with a real swinging door) and a climb-through tunnel.
Unfortunately, it's been raining every day since the new pieces arrived, so the boys have not gotten to enjoy it much. But they will. Trust me, they will.
Who wants to come over and play?
