Someone else will have to be enjoying this view tonight, because we finally made it back home in the early hours of the morning (okay, about 8 a.m., but that would seem awfully early to you too, especially if you'd been driving all night long)! We're looking at a lot of rain and no ocean at the moment.
The drive was uneventful, and we managed to shave off about four hours compared to our drive down during the daylight hours. Seriously, why does anyone travel during the day? Four hours! No hour-long adventures in fast food or random potty breaks for the four-year old (you know, about twenty minutes after the last potty break)!
We all took our naps at some point today to catch up on some of the lost sleep from the long drive and from the vacation sleep schedule. Most of us will probably turn in early, thankful to be back in our own comfortable beds. Except for Sawyer, who managed to be awake for all but about 2 hours of the driving through the night and who has already enjoyed as much of his bed as he's probably going to today - a five hour nap! Have I mentioned he doesn't require much sleep and this doesn't bode well for bed time tonight? Xander wants to know if we'll put him in another room tonight, because he's laying in the floor right now half asleep from his very short afternoon nap.
