Soccer Sundays

For the first time since the boys started TOPSoccer, only one is participating. We gave it several seasons, but Sawyer just really didn't seem to enjoy it. Whoever was helping him ended up with lots of pinches, hits and kicks throughout each and every practice. He was angry more often than not. And while the skill level was there on most things, he just didn't seem to enjoy it. And that makes us a little sad. It's a great program, with great coaches and amazing volunteers who show up every single practice to help.

So Xander is doing soccer solo this season. We're sitting in the stands with Sawyer while Xander gets teamed with a volunteer buddy and participates on his own. It's different, and depending on how well the volunteers know him, is sometimes better than others.

On the very first practice, Xander impressed his coaches with his improved footwork. He could dribble the ball between the cones with ease, something that was a little slower and more difficult last year. He still makes great shots on goal. And he can run hard and fast when he wants to run.
