The Hard Life

Happy Boy, originally uploaded by cheryl.

While the rest of us are at home working hard, the five-year old is off having the time of his life. He has it rough, let me tell you.

Special thanks to Grandma for sending the photo from this afternoon!

Adventures of a Big Boy

Lake Boy, originally uploaded by cheryl.

In order to have a date night, Grandma and Grandpa from the lake had to come up to keep the boys for us (it was Josh's side of the family having the wedding, so all of our usual babysitters were attending). The boys went with Grandma and Grandpa to watch Cousin A play baseball that night, and then Connor got to pack his bags and head back to the lake for an extended vacation.

As you can see, he's having a big time. There's all kinds of fun things to do at the lake. Go boating and swimming. Try fishing for the very first time (though he was not particularly impressed when the fish didn't immediately start biting on his line). Go for rides in Grandpa's new toy - a Polaris Ranger. You know, boy stuff.

It's hard to be five, you know.

Date Night

First Kiss, originally uploaded by cheryl.

Last Saturday we took a break from the craziness that is our lives right now to celebrate with Cousin M and (now) Cousin H as they got married. Cousin M was one of the family members who kept Connor for us when I went back to work, coming over to our house several days each week to take care of him. We loved watching her becomes Mrs. H and seeing her so happy on her wedding day.

The rest of the photos from the wedding are here.

Summer Time

We're still here, just incredibly busy at the moment. Life should start to slow down again by the beginning of next month.

In the mean time, here are some photos of Sawyer from the end of his second year of Early Start.

Let's just call this one sensory heaven. He loves tight, enclosed spaces.

Laughing with his teachers (this would be the week of the split lip).

Embracing the evil green (his least favorite color).

Playing outside in the snow (and borrowing someone else's gloves, apparently).

Lining things up, if you can imagine.

Sleeping.

Comfy.

Asleep during circle time. Story time is not good for sleepy little boys.

Kitchen play. Organizing is fun, he says.

And laughing with his teachers again. He had a great year!

Special thanks to Mrs. R for sharing the pics!
